King and McQueen of England: Coeur de Lion Motorbike Jacket and Harringtons
Richard I, also known as Coeur de Lion (Lion Hearted) was the legendary King of England (1189-1198) most famous for leading the armies of Europe on the third crusades to the Holy Land. Coeur de Lion is also the name of a British menswear clothing brand on a crusade of its own, to provide British made and British designed menswear. Of their wears it was this Motorbiker Jacket which piqued my interest. An iconic piece of menswear in its own right of course, it is thanks to it being worn by another legend, namely, Steve McQueen, which serves to tempt me still further –and it helps for a more interesting title to a blog post.
The competitive price of this one, just under £100, and the fact it is manufactured here in Britain makes it almost too good to resist. This Motorbike Jacket features a breathable weatherproof wax cotton outer and 100% cotton lining as well as brass studs and detachable belt. However, if the motorbike jacket isn’t to your taste you might also take a look at their range of Harrington Jackets –another McQueen staple- and knitwear, again all made here in Britain. A brand worth remembering in my estimations.
